Jana Nayagan is set for one of Tamil cinema's biggest ever openings, with trade circles predicting a worldwide Day 1 collection of over Rs 100 crore. With around 8,000 shows planned across India — over 3,500 in Tamil Nadu alone — advance bookings have crossed Rs 15 crore for opening day, with over 6.5 lakh tickets already sold. Global advance sales for the opening weekend have crossed Rs 30 crore.

North America has already crossed the $500K mark in premieres, with strong business also expected from the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Trade estimates place India's opening day net in the Rs 55-60 crore range, which would surpass GOAT's Rs 44 crore opening while falling short of Leo's Rs 65 crore.

If the Rs 100 crore worldwide target is met, Jana Nayagan would become only the third Tamil film to achieve the milestone and would surpass the opening-day numbers of GOAT, Jailer and Pathaan — though it is expected to remain behind Coolie's record of approximately Rs 153 crore.

Directed by H Vinoth and starring Vijay alongside Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju and Prakash Raj, Jana Nayagan releases on July 23 with music by Anirudh Ravichander.
