Director Ram's Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai has been confirmed for an October 1 release, with the makers unveiling a glimpse from the film on Monday. Nivin Pauly plays an 8,000-year-old immortal who crosses paths with Soori's character, an ordinary 32-year-old man, on a moving train — a chance encounter that spirals into a series of chaotic events involving, among other things, an actual rat. Anjali plays a key role in the film.

Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai marks Nivin Pauly's return to Tamil cinema after Richie in 2017. Yuvan Shankar Raja, a frequent collaborator of Ram, composes the music, with NK Ekhambaram on cinematography and Mathi VS editing. The film is produced by Suresh Kamatchi under V House Productions.
