Jana Nayagan is finally set to release on July 23, with producer Venkat K Narayana of KVN Productions opening up about the film's long journey to theatres. Speaking to NDTV, the producer revealed that the title card identifying Vijay as 'Honourable Chief Minister' was added to the poster following widespread requests from fans and general audiences.

He also disclosed that the film has undergone several changes since its original submission for censorship, including new songs and the addition of a reference to Vijay's party TVK. Reflecting on Vijay's unique connect with Tamil audiences, Venkat said, "They all feel that he is their family member. His work in every film is beyond review, rating, or criticism. The audience goes to his films to celebrate him."

The makers are eyeing a large-scale global release across more than 30 nations on 7,000 to 8,000 screens. The announcement has already prompted other films to shift their release dates — GV Prakash's Immortal has moved from July 23 to September 4, while Arun Matheswaran's DC has shifted from July 31 to August 7. More date changes are expected in the coming days.
