Director Shankar's son Arjith is set to make his acting debut with Lover Boy, opposite Krithi Shetty. The project was officially announced on Thursday following a pooja ceremony attended by prominent industry names including Shankar, H Vinoth, AR Murugadoss and Madhan of With Love fame.

Lover Boy is directed by debutant Ashok, a former associate of filmmaker Atlee. The film is produced by Sudhan Sundaram of Passion Studios in association with Venkat K Narayana of KVN Productions, with the latter coming on board after being drawn in by the core idea during a narration session.

While full details about the plot and production schedule are yet to be revealed, the social media announcement tagged cinematographer Kalaiselvan, editor Kalaivanan and musician Thejas Krishna as part of the technical team.
