Director Keerthiswaran has dropped a strong hint about his next project at a recent Behindwoods event, saying he has a script with commercial elements and emotions that requires a star, adding that an announcement is coming very soon. While he stopped short of confirming Silambarasan as his leading man, reports suggest the two are set to collaborate with pre-production already underway and a floors date of August being targeted. Three major production houses, namely Mythri Movie Makers, Sithara Entertainments, and AGS Entertainment, are reportedly in discussions to back the project.

At the same event, Keerthiswaran also gave an update on Dude 2, revealing he has pitched an idea to Pradeep Ranganathan that retains the spirit of the original. "If it works out, it will be a sequel or a continuation," he said.

Dude, Keerthiswaran's debut, marked Pradeep's fourth film as lead and his third consecutive Rs 100 crore grosser after Love Today and Dragon. Sai Abhyankar will score music for his upcoming film.
