Actor Vishal took to social media on Tuesday to thank Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay for approving five shows a day for films during their first week of release, calling it a much-needed relief for the industry. "A big whistle from all of us," he wrote, also expressing hope for more progressive measures from the TVK government across sectors.
The appreciation comes on the heels of some friction between Vishal and the CM's office. The actor had recently drawn criticism for questioning Vijay's decision to appoint Rajmohan as Minister for Film Technology and Cinematograph Act, describing it as disheartening.
The remark triggered pushback from fellow actors, most notably Krishna, who quote-tweeted Vishal's post and pointed out that the CM himself was new to the job. Krishna also urged that Rajmohan be given a fair chance to prove himself, while taking a pointed dig at Vishal over his absence of support during what appeared to be a reference to Krishna's drug bust controversy.
