Jana Nayagan, CM Vijay's long-delayed final film, appears to be inching closer to a release with ticketing platforms fuelling fresh speculation. While the District ticketing app lists June 19 as the release date and BookMyShow has updated the film's release month to June, KVN Productions is yet to officially confirm anything, with producer Venkat K Narayana stating the team is still awaiting the CBFC certification.
The June 19 date has captured particular attention as it falls just days before Vijay's birthday on June 22, with fans hoping for a birthday release. However, a wrinkle has emerged: KVN Productions has already announced that its Malayalam venture Balan The Boy, directed by Chidambaram of Manjummel Boys fame, is also slated for June 19. This has sparked debate over whether the banner is eyeing an unusual double release or whether Jana Nayagan could shift to June 26, another date doing the rounds in speculation.
The film has reportedly been awaiting CBFC certification for nearly five months. "Once we receive it, we will officially announce the release date and bring the film to theatres worldwide on a grand scale," the producer said.
