Vijay Antony's next film has been announced. Titled Appa Kutty, the emotional action drama is directed by Mu Maran, known for Blackmail, Iravukku Aayiram Kangal, and Kannai Nambathey. The first look poster, released alongside the announcement, sets the tone immediately with a wounded Vijay Antony carrying his daughter on his shoulder.

Centred on the bond between a father and daughter, the film promises a blend of action, sentiment, and family emotion. Vijay Antony pulls triple duty as lead actor, music composer, and editor, while also producing under his Vijay Antony Film Corporation banner.

Preethi Asrani plays the female lead with the supporting cast featuring Bagavathi Perumal, Muthu Kumar, Jenson Dhivakar, and Lizzie Antony among others. Rajeev Rajendran handles cinematography and A Raja serves as production designer. With the shoot already wrapped and post-production underway, the makers are targeting an August theatrical release.
