Not Even One Person Looked at Me - Rajinikanth Recalls How Spirituality Crushed His Ego

Superstar Rajinikanth had the audience in splits at spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's recent event, sharing a humbling experience from his stay at the Art of Living ashram that left even the biggest star in Tamil cinema feeling invisible.

Recalling his extended 15-day stay at the ashram, Rajinikanth described the serene environment before narrating the incident that stayed with him. On an auspicious evening, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar invited him to accompany him for darshan before thousands of devoted followers. Rajinikanth hesitated, worried his presence would cause a distraction. But the guru insisted.

"I thought many would swarm around me, asking for autographs and photos. I saw a lot of Tamil people also. To be frank with you, and I am not lying here, not even a single person looked at me," he said, drawing thunderous cheers and laughter from the audience.

"I waved 'Hi,' but nobody even looked at me. I've attended many events, but this one crushed my ego. When we returned, Gurudev asked me, 'There was no disturbance, right?' and I folded my hands before him. That is the power of spirituality," he reflected.

On the work front, Rajinikanth has wrapped filming for Jailer 2, directed by Nelson, which brings back Ramya Krishnan, Shivarajkumar, Mohanlal, and adds new faces including Vijay Sethupathi, Mithun Chakraborty, Santhanam, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Meghana Raj Sarja, Jatin Sarna, and Anna Rajan. He also has KH x RK with Kamal Haasan, also directed by Nelson, and another Rajinikanth starrer produced by Kamal under Cibi Chakravarthy's direction in the pipeline.
