Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the leak of Vijay’s Jana Nayagan, several film personalities have voiced concern over rising piracy, with actor-producer Sivakarthikeyan strongly condemning the incident.

Taking to X, Sivakarthikeyan emphasised the effort behind filmmaking, stating that “every film is made with the passion, blood and sweat of hundreds of people.” Urging audiences to avoid piracy, he added, “Kindly wait for the theatrical release and watch it in theatres. Whoever is responsible for this must face strict action,” while stressing the need to respect the industry and its talent.

The reaction comes after a five-minute clip from Jana Nayagan was leaked online, followed by the alleged release of the full film on pirated platforms. While the source of the leak remains unknown, the development has triggered widespread outrage.

The makers have since issued a legal notice, calling the leak a serious criminal offence and warning of strict action against anyone involved in sharing or circulating the content across digital platforms.

Originally slated for a January 9 release, Jana Nayagan has been delayed due to censorship issues and was expected to release after the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The leak now adds to the challenges faced by the film’s team.
