The makers of Nooru Sami, starring Vijay Antony and Swasika, have unveiled a two-minute teaser, offering a glimpse into an intense, caste-based drama directed by Sasi.

The teaser suggests that Swasika’s character commits an act deemed against her community’s beliefs, leading to backlash from villagers who label it “disgusting” and “humiliating.” A striking line in the teaser underlines the theme: control over women as a means to preserve caste and clan. Vijay Antony is reportedly seen playing her relative, as the narrative unfolds around a village hunt linked to the incident.

Interestingly, the film is said to be inspired by real-life events, with the teaser intercutting dramatised sequences and footage resembling real testimonies.

The film marks Vijay Antony’s reunion with Pichaikkaran director Sasi, with the actor also producing the project. His daughter Meera Vijay Antony is credited as presenter. The cast also includes Ajay Dhishan, Karunaas, Lijomol Jose, Sakthi, Kavya Anil, and others in key roles.

With music by Balaji Sriram and cinematography by SB Darshan Kirlosh, Nooru Sami is slated for a theatrical release on May 1, and will also release in Telugu as Vanda Devullu.
