Director Ashwath Marimuthu, known for Dragon, has shared that he is gearing up to commence production on his next film starring Silambarasan in the lead. The project, tentatively titled STR 51, remains one of the most anticipated Tamil films of 2026 after facing delays since its announcement earlier in 2025.

The filmmaker recently shared pictures with Silambarasan and producer Archana Kalpathi of AGS Entertainment, expressing excitement about beginning the shoot soon. The makers are yet to announce the official title, though Ashwath has hinted that it will start with the letter “I”.

At the time of announcement, a glimpse introduced Silambarasan’s character as the “God of Love.” Addressing speculation around the delay, the director earlier clarified that it was due to his own writing schedule, as he took time to develop the screenplay following the success of Dragon. Further details about the project are expected to be revealed soon.

Meanwhile, Silambarasan also has projects lined up, including Arasan and his milestone 50th film with director Desingh Periyasamy.
