Actor-turned-director Ken Karunaas recently shared an emotional behind-the-scenes story about the making of his upcoming film Youth during an interaction at a private college event. He revealed that convincing people to support the project was one of the biggest challenges during its early stages.

According to Ken, very few initially believed in the film, including their own families, who questioned the decision to pursue the project. At that point, the team felt the need for a well-known music director to bring credibility and visibility to the film. During a conversation with composer-actor G. V. Prakash Kumar, Ken shared his struggles, following which the musician asked him to narrate the script and immediately agreed to come on board.

In a gesture of support, GV Prakash composed the entire soundtrack without accepting any payment, highlighting the strong bond between the two.

Speaking about the film’s origin, Ken said the idea emerged from a casual terrace conversation with friends. As they shared humorous memories from their school days, the discussion sparked nostalgia and laughter, eventually inspiring the concept of a light-hearted entertainer that audiences could easily relate to.

Youth is described as a fun-filled commercial entertainer and features an ensemble cast including Suraj Venjaramoodu, Anishma Anil Kumar, Devadarshini, Meenakshi Dinesh, and Priyanshi Yadav

Lyrics for the film have been penned by Ken Karunaas along with Vignesh Srikanth and Eshwar Santhanalakshmi. The technical crew includes cinematographer Viki, editor Nash, and editor Ramu Thangaraj.

Produced by Karuppiah C Ram, Sulochana Kumar, and Kali Rajkumar, the film is backed by Paarvathaa Entertainments and Street Boy Studios. Youth is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 19.
