Karuppu starring Suriya and Trisha in the lead is a Tamil language action drama directed by RJ Balaji, and written by RJ Balaji, Ashwin Ravichandran, Rahul Raj, T. S. Gopi Krishnan and Karan Aravind Kumar. Karuppu till recently was expected to hit theater screens on April 10, 2026 marking the Tamil New Year weekend. However latest buzz suggests a preponement to the Republic day weekend, making Karuppu's release date January 23, 2026 (Friday). 

At this time, it has also been revealed that Karuppu's OTT rights has been bagged by Netflix for a whopping price of Rs. 65 Cr. The standard OTT window range followed by Netflix for Tamil movies varies between 4-8 weeks. Big star and high-budget films typically fall in the 8-week window range, however the OTT premiere of a Tamil film on the Netflix streaming platform depends on the movie's performance at the box-office. 

At the earliest, Karuppu's OTT release date is February 20, 2026 (Friday) or February 21, 2026 (Saturday). A 6-week window would put Karuppu's OTT release on March 6, 2026 (Friday), and an 8-week window would mean Karuppu's digital premiere on March 20, 2026 (Friday). It is worth mentioning here that Karuppu's theatrical release date is yet to be officially announced.
