Actors Kavin and Andrea Jeremiah have shared screen space for the first time in a Tamil movie titled Mask. Mask releases in theaters on November 21, 2025 (Friday), and here are five compelling reasons to watch the film in theaters:
1. Plot/Genre
Mask is a dark comedy heist thriller that revolves around the story of Rs. 440 Cr. getting stolen, with only 7 days to get it back. A game of greed and betrayal unfolds with a conniving woman (Andrea Jeremiah) and an uncanny guy (Kavin) with a bag full of tricks, and a group of MR Radha-mask wearing people at the center. This plot-genre mash-up promises a high-stakes drama with a strong socio-political undertone.
Interestingly Mask releases alongside another Tamil movie titled Middle Class, where the theme is also middle class, stolen money, high stakes drama, but in a much rooted set-up in comparison to Mask. While the late veteran M.R. Radha is referenced in Mask, his controversial actor-son Radha Ravi plays a character role in Middle Class.
2. Kavin
Actor Kavin's portfolio comprises of an interesting list of movies, and Mask with its offbeat theme looks as promising as Kiss (2025), Bloody Beggar (2024), Star (2024), Dada (2023), and Lift (2021). With Mask, Kavin also promises a layered performance with his morally ambiguous character 'Velu'.
3. Andrea Jeremiah as the Antagonist + Producer
Andrea Jeremiah not only stars in Mask but has also co-produced it under her own banner. Interestingly, Andrea plays the lead antagonist, bringing intensity and depth to her on-screen conflict with Kavin.
4. Strong Technical Talent
Be it the music and score by GV Prakash Kumar, cinematography by R. D. Rajasekhar, stunt choreography by big names like Peter Hein, and Vicky, and editing by R. Ramar, a Vetrimaaran regular, this strong technical backing in Mask suggests that the movie will be polished, and immersive.
5. Unique Mentorship
Though Mask is produced by Black Madras Films, and The Show Must Go On, director Vetrimaaran's Grass Root Film Company has provided unique mentorship and creative inputs to the movie. Mask is also directed by debutant Vikarnan Ashok, a former associate of Vetrimaaran.
Censored U/A, Mask comes with a runtime of 2 hours 7 minutes and 45 seconds. The film overall looks lucrative offering Kavin and Andreah in a story with a twist, morally grey characters, and backed by strong technical execution. Mask's OTT rights are with Zee5 streaming platform.
