Dude headlined by Pradeep Ranganathan has turned out to be a big winner this Diwali 2025, collecting a whopping Rs. 83 Cr. in worldwide gross in the first 4 days of the film's release. Dude's opening weekend box-office was officially announced by the movie's producers, Mythri Movie Makers on Tuesday.
Monday was a National holiday in India marking the Hindu festival of Diwali. Dude's worldwide gross in its first 3 days — from its release date October 17, 2025 (Friday) to October 19, 2025 (Sunday) — was Rs. 66 Cr. in worldwide gross.
Dude written and directed by debutant Keerthiswaran follows the story of an event planner (Pradeep Ranganathan), who helps his cousin-turned-lover (Mamitha Baiju) elope with a man (Hridu Haroon) her powerful father (R. Sarathkumar) forbids.
How Agan (Pradeep) becomes entangled in a web of love, caste, and conscience — ultimately forcing a ruthless politician (Sarathkumar) to confront his buried sins, and redefining what it means to protect the ones you love, is what forms the rest of the story. Dude has music by Tamil feature film debutant Sai Abhyankkar, and comes with a runtime of 139 minutes.
