Actor Dhanush’s latest directorial Idli Kadai, produced by Dawn Pictures released in theaters on October 1, 2025, and in its 5-day extended opening weekend, has grossed Rs. 51. 5 Cr worldwide. In India alone, Idli Kadai is said to have grossed Rs. 42. 75 Cr. in 5 days, while internationally, Idli Kadai's collection in 5 days is estimated to have exceeded $1M. 

Idli Kadai is currently on day 7 of its theatrical run. The movie follows the story of Murugan (Dhanush), a successful chef who returns to his native village after his father’s (Rajkiran) death. Murugan finds his family’s humble idli eatery at the heart of a bitter feud that threatens both his father’s legacy, and his future with his wealthy fiancée’s (Shalini Pandey) family (Arun Vijay, Sathyaraj).

Idli Kadai also stars Nithya Menen, Samuthirakani, R. Pathiepan, among others, and has GV Prakash Kumar for music.
