This achievement marks a significant milestone for Tamil cinema in the Nordic region, showcasing the massive global appeal of Rajinikanth, and the power-packed combination of director Lokesh Kanagaraj, Sun Pictures, and Anirudh Ravichander’s music that has been driving Coolie’s success worldwide.
The Nordic release of Coolie is handled by Snowdrops, while Hamsini Entertainment has managed the film’s overseas distribution in partnership with Sun Pictures. Together, they have ensured Coolie's reach across Europe and beyond.
With a runtime of 170 minutes, Coolie tells the story of Deva (Rajinikanth), who haunted by an unfinished revolt, probes into a friend’s death, exposing a smuggler dynasty, a murder-machine masquerading as invention, and dueling undercover agents. To protect his late friend's daughter Preethi (Shruthi Haasan), Deva must reopen old wounds, and finish a war that began on the docks.
