Malayalam star actor Dulquer Salmaan will next be seen in a home production titled Kaantha which is a Tamil-Telugu bilingual, co-produced by Rana Daggubatti's Spirit Media. Kaantha is a period drama set in 1950s Madras (now Chennai), and is written and directed by Selvamani Selvaraj of the docuseries The Hunt for Veerappan fame.

Latest update is that the Kaantha release date is August 1, 2025, though an official announcement is awaited. Kaantha has Bhagyashri Borse playing female lead, and she will be seen in a character named 'Kumari'. Samuthirakani also plays an important role in the movie. 

The technical crew of Kaantha includes Jhanu Chanthar for music, Dani Sanchez Lopez for cinematography, and Lewellyn Anthony Gonsalves for edits.

Kaantha is Dulquer Salmaan's first release in 2025. His Wayfarer Films banner is also releasing Dhanush-Sekhar Kammula's Kuberaa on June 20 and Vijay Deverakonda's Kingdom on July 25, 2025 before Kanthaa.
