Comedy actor Yogi Babu has been making appearances in Tamil films since 2009. The actor who started his career as a junior artiste, soon started gaining prominence for his characters specifically designed for comic relief in movies. Yogi Babu's comedy tracks however, has received as much criticism for not being palatable, as reception for being downright silly.
Regardless, Yogi Babu's sustenance in Tamil films has only gone from being a side character to an important actor, whose market value brings something to the table (Yogi Babu also plays lead from time to time, albeit with not consistent success).
Recently, Yogi Babu opened up about facing harsh criticisms from popular Tamil film reviewers, and accused them of demanding 'favours' in exchange for gentler reviews of his movies/acting. It was evident that Yogi Babu was referring to a particular trio of Tamil YouTubers, and they in turn returned his attack by labelling his comedy 'trash'.
The YouTubers trio went on to reveal that Yogi Babu had once told them years ago, that Tamil star actor Ajith Kumar had asked the comedian to 'not touch' him. Yogi Babu had felt very bad about it, yet they reported the incident protecting Yogi Babu from Ajith Kumar's fame, they said.

While it was clear that they had now decided to feed Yogi Babu to the wrath of a star power's fanbase, on the other hand, actor Ajith was coming under the critical lens of "practicing untouchability". However, Yogi Babu, who has shared screen space with Ajith in many movies, and has spoken highly of the actor in several interviews, put an end to this discourse by sharing an image Ajith took of Yogi Babu and Motta Rajendran during Vedalam shooting in 2014.
