Indian 2 starring Kamal Haasan in the lead is the second film in the Shankar directed Indian franchise, which released in theaters on July 12, 2024. Currently in week 2 of theatrical run, Indian 2 upon release had attracted a whole lot of negative reviews from critics. Despite the same, the film has managed to hold steady in theater screens.

Producers Lyca Productions who over the last 9 days have made it a point to post public opinion of Indian 2 on their X handle, recently uploaded a video which suggests a difference in the view of Indian 2 critics, and the Indian 2 audience. 

While the video has opinions ranging from praise for actor-politician Kamal Haasan who chose this subject despite being a politician himself, to statements like everyone 40 years of age should be watching Indian 2, the interviewer at one point directly asks the audience why they think Indian 2 had negative reviews. 

One of the Indian 2 viewers responds to this by stating that maybe the people watching the movie related to the wrongdoings depicted in the film, which is why they felt called out, and hence a negative opinion of Indian 2 was formed. Everyone in the video states that they individually liked Indian 2, found the movie entertaining, and did not have a negative review for the film.
