Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil, which translates to 'at the entrance of Guruvayoor Temple', is an upcoming Malayalam language romantic comedy starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey (2002) fame Basil Joseph in lead roles. Tamil comedian Yogi Babu makes his Malayalam debut with this movie, which is written by Deepu Pradeep, directed by Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey fame Vipin Das, and also stars Nikhila Vimal and Anaswara Rajan as female leads. The film is scheduled to hit theater screens on May 16, 2024 [Thursday]. 

The story of Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil revolves around Vinu (Basil Joseph) who due to a chain of unforeseen set of events, ends up marrying someone else and not his fiancée on his wedding day at Guruvayur, 

Anand (Prithviraj Sukumaran) and Vinu (Basil Joseph) play soon-to-be brothers-in-law and good friends in the movie, whereas Nikhila Vimal plays Parvathy, Anand's wife and Anaswara Rajan plays Anjali, Anand's sister in Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil.

The theme of a bridegroom marrying another man’s fiancée was seen in a famous Malayalam movie titled Grihapravesham (1992), but director Vipin Das has assured that except for that one similarity Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil is a totally different movie. 

The clean U movie comes with a runtime of 2 hours and 14 minutes. In the making since May last year (the shooting had to halt due to Prithviraj's accident on another film set), Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil has been filmed across Kochi, Guruvayur and Dubai. Many of scenes with the Guruvayur temple backdrop has been shot using a set at Karattupallikkara in Perumbavoor.
