Decent Watch For Its Enjoyable First Half!

Interesting conflict creates an engaging drama in the first hour with the humor working vastly in the films favour. But too many characters and relentless situations around them deviates from the core story which results in a dull second half.(more)

Prithviraj's film is fun and hilarious in parts

The film's second half is what brings down 'Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil' after its perfectly crafted first half. The conflict following the intermission becomes wafer-thin. And the filmmaker introduces multiple characters leading up to a chaotic end, which is the wedding of Vinu and Anjali. While the sequence is executed tastefully, it fails to make a significant impact, partly due to the repetitive comedy and some unfunny sequences that fall short of the first half's standard.(more)

Prithviraj, Basil Joseph deliver a robust entertainer that never bites off more than it can chew

While Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil steadily builds up to its extravagant climax, where chaos reaches new heights, providing ample opportunities for the makers to showcase their skills, this sequence falls significantly short of the narratives buildup. Although the combination of music, action and humour, along with the chaos involving numerous characters, reminiscent of the godown fight in Vettam (2004), is entertaining to watch, Vipin could have improved it significantly. And because of this, Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil might leave at least a few unsatisfied due to its ending, although the Nandanam (2002) Easter eggs manage to bring a smile, despite potentially feeling overused by the end.(more)
