[Updated: March 8, 2024] Earlier today, news of actor Ajith Kumar visiting his regular health center i.e. the Apollo hospital on Greams road, Chennai had done the rounds in Tamil film circles. However late on Thursday evening, Tamil news channels started reporting that actor Ajith Kumar is currently in the ICU, post a brain surgery.

They say that Ajith's doctors had detected a growth in Ajith's brain a while ago, and since it had come to the point that the health issue could no longer be sidelined, Ajith underwent a removal of the same with a 4-hour surgery, at Apollo hospitals on March 7, 2024. A video of Ajith and wife Shalini walking busy inside the hospital premises had surfaced earlier in the day, hence this update has sent shockwaves everywhere.

Furthermore, the Tamil news channels also report that Ajith will be under medical care for a while. Actor Ajith is not on social media, and Ajith's social media present PR manager Suresh Chandra is yet to update on the actor's health. However, some reports suggest that Suresh Chandra has confirmed that Ajith was indeed admitted to the VIP ward of Apollo hospitals early on March 7, 2024, after the actor paid a visit to the hospital on March 6, 2024.

Suresh Chandra has been quoted in the Tamil media as stating that Ajith underwent a 30-minute neural procedure at the Apollo hospitals in Chennai, after it was discovered that Ajith had a nerve weakness under his ear. According to Suresh Chandra, Ajith was shifted from the ICU to normal ward on the night of March 7, 2024 [Thursday], and the actor is expected to be discharged on March 8, 2024 [Friday] late evening or the morning of March 9, 2024 [Saturday].
