Last week, actor Vijay officially announced his political entry by confirming that he has submitted to register his party under the name Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), and that he will be contesting in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Elections in 2026. Now we hear Vijay is most likely to contest either from the Thoothukudi or Nagapattinam constituency in Tamil Nadu. 

6 Tamil Nadu constituencies come under the Thoothukudi district and Lok Sabha constituency, and they are Thoothukudi, Vilathikulam, Tiruchendur, Srivaikuntam, Ottapidaram, and Kovilpatti. Of these Ottapidaram is an Scheduled Caste (SC) reserved constituency.  

3 Tamil Nadu constituencies come under the Nagapattinam district - Nagapattinam, Kilvelur, Vedaranyam. Kilvelur is an SC reserved constituency among these. Thiruvarur district constituencies like Thiruthiraipoondi (SC reserved), Thiruvarur and Nannilam are also bracketed under the Nagapattinam Lok Sabha constituency.
