Superstar Rajinikanth's next film is titled as "Kochadaiyaan" (Name of a ancient Pandiyan King in 700 AD). It will be a high-tech 3D film which will be using the latest performance capture technology which was earlier implemented successfully in James Cameroon's Avatar & recently in Steven Spielberg's Tintin. It will be an historical subject as the title of the film suggests.

The story ,screenplay , dialogues & direction supervision will be done by KS Ravikumar & Rajinikanth's daughter Soundarya Ashwin will be directing this film. This film will be jointly produced by Eros International & Media One Global Entertainment. More details regarding the cast & crew are expected to be known soon. According to the official press release statement it will be an August 2012 release & Efforts will be taken to wrap up the shooting quickly.
