[Updated: December 19, 2023] After delivering two action blockbusters this year with Pathaan (January 25, 2023) and Jawan (September 7, 20230, Shah Rukh Khan is all set to grace the big screens for the third time in 2023 with the Rajkumar Hirani directed Dunki (December 21, 2023). It has now been officially announced that Dunki, a comedy drama will release in Tamil Nadu via Sree Gokulam Movies, Dream Big Films and popular distribution banner Sakthi Film Factory.  

A production venture of Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment and Jio Studios, Dunki is set around illegal immigration and is a multi-starrer with names like Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Dia Mirza, Parikshit Sahni, Sathish Shah, Vikram Kochhar, Anil Grover, Jyoti Subhash among others. 

The movie has songs by Pritam and background score by Aman Pant. Dunki comes with a runtime of 2 hours and 41 minutes, and is written by Rajkumar Hirani, Abhijat Joshi, Kanika Dhillon. The film is set in a village called Laltu, where Hardayal Singh Dhillon aka Hardy (Shah Rukh Khan, along with his friends Sukhi (Vicky Kaushal) and Mannu (Taapsee Pannu), takes English coaching classes to fulfil his immigration dreams. But they all fail to realize their dreams through the legal route, eventually setting out on a journey by foot, crossing borders illegally and being shot on the way. 25 years later, Hardy narrating this story is what Dunki is all about.
