Maamannan is an upcoming Mari Selvaraj directorial which is a multi-starrer with names like Udhayanidhi Stalin, Vadivelu, Fahadh Faasil and Keerthy Suresh in its lead cast. Vadivelu's role in the movie has been hyped to be a pivotal one, and director Mari Selvaraj has gone as far as saying that he wouldn't have done the movie had Vadivelu not accepted the character. Latest update from the makers reveal that the comedian turned serious actor has also sung a song in the movie.

Red Giant Movies - the banner producing Maamannan and director Mari Selvaraj shared stills from a recording session with Vadivelu, under film's composer AR Rahman's music. The production house also updated that the first single from Mamannan will be releasing soon.
