Kaithi is a Lokesh Kanagaraj directed 2019 Karthi film, that was produced by SR Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures. This film was set in the same universe as Lokesh Kanagaraj's 2022 directorial Vikram starring actor Kamal Haasan in the lead. Director Lokesh has now begun a new film with actor Vijay which tentatively goes by Thalapathy 67, and this too was expected to be part of what has become the 'Lokesh Cinematic Universe' aka the same universe as Kaithi and Vikram. 

However Kaithi producer SR Prabhu may have shattered one too many LCU dreams with a tweet of his from last night. Quoting director Lokesh's Thalapathy 67 announcement tweet, SR Prabhu sent his wishes to the project from a 'parallel universe'. Many took this as a hint that Thalapathy 67 is not in the same LCU as Kaithi and Vikram, though some are still clinging to that hope.

For those getting confused - Kaithi is 1 universe, Vikram is a parellel universe that has Kaithi intersecting with it. T67 is another parellel universe like Vikram. This means, very likely that universe of Vikram and Kaithi will intersect with T67
