Suriya 42 (tentative title) is actor Suriya's highly ambitious project with director Siva, which is being produced by Studio Green and UV Creations production banner. The film stars Disha Patani as female lead and has Devi Sri Prasad for music. While the period saga has completed two schedules of shooting, its early motion poster revealed that Suriya plays 5 characters in the movie namely Arathar, Venkaater, Mukaatar, Mandaankar and Perumanathar. 

Now film's editor Nishad Yusuf who is making his Tamil debut with Suriya 42, has revealed that fantasy is the genre of the movie. Suriya 42 includes a 1000-year old backstory and the team has completed shooting of the intro and present time portions at Goa. The Goa shooting took place for 35 days and the next schedule will go on for 60 days in Sri Lanka and is expected to end by March - April 2023 [Suriya is also beginning a new film with Jai Bhim director TJ Gnanavel around this timeline].

Nishad Yusuf revealed that Suriya 42 is being shot on a big canvas and the Sri Lanka schedule will involve shooting in the forests and fight sequences. The movie is scheduled to release in 3D and 10 languages including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada.
