Sivakarthikeyan's new film with Mandela director Madonne Ashwin was officially announced this morning and it was made clear that this movie is titled Maaveeran and not SK 21, as previously suggested by Udhayanidhi Stalin. Maaveeran is a production venture of Shanthi Talkies who have also bankrolled Sivakarthikeyan's other upcoming movie Prince. 

The title announcement video of Maaveeran (titled Mahaveerudu in Telugu) had superhero vibes to it, though it remains unknown if the movie will be anywhere in that genre. Shooting of Maaveeran is scheduled to begin soon.

The film's technical crew includes Vidhu Ayyanna for cinematography, Bharath Sankar for music, Philomin Raj for edits and Kumar Gangappan for art direction.
