Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar who has long been associated with Rajinikanth's upcoming film Thalaivar 169 (tentative title) has updated that he is indeed on board the Superstar's movie. As reported multiple times by MovieCrow previously, Thalaivar 169 is expected to begin shooting in August, 2022 and Shivanna (as the Sandalwood actor is fondly known) has confirmed the same as well. He has also revealed that his portions with Rajini will be shot in Bengaluru or Mysore in September, 2022.

A Sun Pictures production, Thalaivar 169 is a Nelson Dilipkumar directorial who has given films like Kolamaavu Kokila (2018), Doctor (2021) and Beast (2022). The movie has Anirudh for music and recently director KS Ravikumar was said to have brought on-board for a script-assist on Thalaivar 169.

Other names that are so far associated with the project are actors Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Priyanka Mohan, Ramya Krishnan among others.
