Previously we had reported that Thalaivar 169 (tentative title) plans to begin by end of April or early May in 2022 and now we hear Rajinikanth plans on travelling to the US in the meantime. Reason for Rajini's visit to America is said to be medical, presumably the usual health follow-up and the actor is expected to begin shooting for Thalaivar 169 post his return.

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures, Thalaivar 169 has Anirudh for music. An official announcement on the rest of the cast and crew is currently awaited.
