Best Tamil Movie Posters of 2021
Movie posters constitute a major chunk in a film's promotional campaign, and they hold the power to make or break the buzz surrounding a film's release. Some of the best movie posters Kollywood came up with in 2021, are listed [not ranked] here.
Karnan (Kabilan)
Karnan piqued interest right from the word go. While the first title poster foreshadowed how the one holding the sword is backed by a whole village, the other official posters amped-up curiosity with its head-turning conceptualization.
Navarasa (Gopi Prasanna)
Navarasa had nine different stories to offer based on nine different emotions and each poster managed to lure attention individually. If Suriya's poster screamed romance, the one with Prasanna and Arvind Swami invoked curiosity over the concept-of-time tease.
Jagame Thandhiram (Tuney John)
A silk dhoti-clad Dhanush donning a handle-bar mustache and firing two hand-pistols has now become a cultural reference. Be it the recreation of 'The Last Supper' with a smirky Dhanush in the middle [portraying how his character plays evil to the trust of two sides] or his overlooking St. Paul's Cathedral in a dhoti and sweater [indicating a Tamil native's move to the cold London], posters of Jagame Thandhiram were brilliant all the way.
Master (Gopi Prasanna)
The first look of this Vijay film was hazy, cleverly leaving the viewers to wonder why. The image of Vijay shushing, while standing among young boys facing the opposite (wrong) direction was another fantastic precursor to the film's story.
Lift (Yuvaraj Ganesan)
This is a film that garnered interest for its poster campaign. The third eye point-of-view from inside a lift was quite impressive.
