Actor Rajinikanth took to twitter today to praise the recently released 83, which is a sports-drama about India's first cricket world cup win in 1983. The Superstar actor called the movie 'magnificent' and went to congratulate film's director Kabir Khan, lead actor Ranveer Singh, producers of the film and Kollywood's very own Jiiva, whose performance in 83 was particularly liked by the Tamil film audience.

Rajini also mentioned Kapil Dev in his tweet, whose real life journey of leading Indian cricket team to its historic win is chronicled in the movie. 83's female lead Deepika Padukone, director Kabir Khan along with Reliance Entertainment, Phantom Films and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment are listed as producers of the film.
