Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar announced on Tuesday that his upcoming espionage thriller Bell Bottom will be releasing in theaters worldwide on July 27, 2021. Set in the eighties, the movie also stars Vaani Kapoor, Lara Dutta and Huma Qureshi and is directed by Ranjit M. Tiwari.

Produced by Pooja Entertainment in association with Emmay Entertainment, Bell Bottom is one of the first major Hindi movies to release exclusively in theaters. This move by the makers was long-awaited by screen-owners in several Hindi-speaking states of India, as the past year and plus have been economically devastating for them.

It is worth mentioning here that cinema halls and multiplexes continue to remain closed in several states of India but some of them are expected to re-open by July, 2021.
