K.V. Anand passes away from cardiac arrest! Was undergoing COVID-19 treatment!

Cinematographer turned filmmaker K.V. Anand has passed away at 54 due to cardiac arrest at 3:00 AM on April 30, 2021 (Friday). The director was undergoing treatment for Coronavirus COVID-19 and his mortal remains will be will be sent to an electric crematorium for last rites, as per pandemic protocols.

 

K.V. Anand started his career as a photojournalist for a Tamil magazine and became a National award winning cinematographer as soon as he entered the film industry in the 90s. He was one of the founding members of the Indian Society of Cinematographers (ISC) and turned director in 2005 with a Tamil movie titled Kana Kandaen

 

Two weeks ago, K.V. Anand's wife and daughter had tested COVID-19 positive and had isolated themselves at home. When K.V. Anand experienced breathlessness after testing positive for COVID too, he got himself admitted to the hospital but suffered loss of life due to cardiac arrest.

 

K.V. Anand has frequently collaborated with actor Suriya and music composer Harris Jayaraj. He is most known for his directorial films Ayan (Suriya), Ko (Jeeva) and has also directed Maattraan (Suriya), Anegan (Dhanush), Kavan (Vijay Sethupathi) and Kaappaan (Suriya, Arya).
