Breaking: TN Movie Theaters to be shut from April 26!

PUBLISHED DATE | 24/Apr/2021

Movie theaters in Tamil Nadu will be shut down completely starting April 26, 2021 (Monday) as a part of the COVID-19 regulation in the state. The Tamil Nadu state government has also ordered the shut-down of malls, gyms and bars among other places due to the tsunami-like second wave of the Coronavirus cases.

As such cinema halls were functioning only at 50% seating capacity since mid April and new Tamil movies had also stopped releasing on the big screen since then.

Previously, the Tamil Nadu theater owners association had contemplated shutting down competely on their own due to unsteady business but decided against it last minute.
