Dhanush fans may have wanted Jagame Thandhiram to release on the big screen but the movie is scheduled for a direct OTT premiere, on the streaming platform Netflix. Jagame Thandhiram was expected to make its digital premiere in March but now the release has been pushed to June, 2021.

The movie, directed by Karthik Subbaraj is also being dubbed in five Indian languages and these versions along with the Tamil version will be releasing in that month. Jagame Thandhiram is produced by Y Not Studios and has Santhosh Narayanan for music. A gangster-drama, the film has Aishwwarya Lekshmi playing female lead.
