A Hindi web-series titled Tandav stirred in a huge controversy recently, after Amazon Prime Video viewers of the nine-episode political thriller found several of the scenes to be problematic.
After two meetings with the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the OTT series' makers announced on Wednesday that they will be editing out the controversial scenes that inappropriately depict the U.P. Police personnel, Hindu deities, and the character playing Prime Minister.

However, BJP MLA Ram Kadam filed a complaint against the series in Mumbai, which has now been turned into an FIR. The FIR was registered under Sections 153 (A), 295 (A) and 505 of the Indian penal code.
Atleast 2 more FIRs have also been filed against the series' makers and artists, one of which is from the UP Police itself. Director of Tandav, Ali Abbas Zafar, producer Himanshu Mehra, writer Gaurav Solanki, head of India Originals at Amazon, Aparna Purohit, actor Saif Ali Khan and a few others in the series have been named in the FIR.
