Actor Madhavan announced earlier that his upcoming film Maara co-starring Shraddha Srinath will be releasing directly on OTT platform Amazon Prime Video and the movie premieres on December 17, 2020, but the film now got postponed to Jan 8, 2021. 

 An official remake of the the Malayalam movie Charlie (2015) which starred Dulquer Salmaan and Parvathy among others, Maara is directed by Dhilip Kumar and has music by Ghibran.

Written by Unni.R and Martin Prakkat, Charlie was a romantic drama which followed the search of the leading lady, who finds interest in the story of a man who previously occupied her current quarters. How they end up meeting eventually is what forms the rest of the film.
