Superstar Rajinikanth's Petta holds the top position in the list by minting Rs. 15.68 cr. Four of his films have made it to the All-time Top grossers list in Chennai. 2.0 which released in 2018 set a new benchmark at the Chennai Box Office grossing Rs. 24.80 cr beating Baahubali 2's record of Rs. 18.85 cr. His other films in the list include Kabali and Kaala.

Thalapathy Vijay has secured the second position in the list with his highest grossing film of this year Bigil collecting Rs. 14 cr. However Sarkar which grossed Rs. 14.75 cr last year marks his highest grosser in the city. Mersal and Theri are other two films in All-time Top Grossers List.

Ajith's Viswasam which raked in Rs. 13.3 cr is at the third position and is also the only film of Ajith in the All-Time Top grossers list. His other release this year Nerkonda Paarvai (NKP) with a gross of Rs. 10.85 cr has bagged the fourth place this year.
