Soorarai Pottru, a film based on the life of Air Deccan founder G.R. Gopinath has Suriya playing the lead and is currently gearing up for its first look poster release on November 10 2019. A Sudha Kongara directorial, Soorarai Pottru was earlier speculated to be releasing during Pongal, 2020; then it was said that Suriya will be opting for the Chirstmas, 2019 weekend instead. 

But now, Sakthi Film Factory which holds the distribution rights of the film in Tamil Nadu is reportedly looking for a Summer, 2020 release. The reason for the delay is unknown but it is worth mentioning that an official release date announcement is yet to be made. 

Produced by 2D Entertainment, Soorarai Pottru has Aparna Balamurali playing female lead and G.V. Prakash for music. The film also stars Mohan Babu, Jackie Shroff, Karunas and Paresh Rawal among others.
