Here's what Centre's nod to Amendments in The Cinematograph Act means!

Amendments to the Cinematograph Act, 1952 which was being rooted for by the entire Indian Film industry has recently been approved by The Union Cabinet. The Producers Guild of India released an official statement regarding the same which read, 


 


The changes in the Cinematograph Act means that any person, who attempts or uses any recording device to make or transmit a copy of a film, or helps in the making or transmission of a copy without written authorization of the copyright owner, can end up with up to 3 years of imprisonment or Rs. 10 lakh in fine or both.
