Ajith, who recently wrapped Viswasam shooting which is gearing up for Pongal 2019 release, is all set to begin work on his next film soon. Tentatively titled 'Thala 59', the film produced by late Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor will be directed by H. Vinoth of ‘Theeran Adigaram Ondru’ fame.

The film will be a remake of Bollywood film ‘Pink’. The news has been confirmed by director Shoojit Sircar, the creative producer of Pink in an interview to a leading newspaper.  Reportedly, the film retaining its core plot will have its own interpretation to suit the Tamil audience.

Thala Ajith will reprise Amitabh Bachchan's role as the lawyer in the remake. Pink is a courtroom drama social thriller in which Big B plays the role of a lawyer who helps three girls falsely targeted in a prostitution case.

According to reports, Thala 59 will go on floors in the third week of December. AR Rahman is likely to score the music for the film. An official announcement regarding the project is expected soon from the makers.
