We had earlier reported that the Telugu remake rights of 96 the movie which is hitting theatre screens on October 4, 2018, has been acquired by Dil Raju of Sri Venkateshwara Cine Creations. Now, word has it that the makers have locked Nani and Samantha to reprise the lead characters and that the film will begin shooting by December, 2018. However, an official confirmation on the same is yet to be made. 

Directed by cinematographer turned director Prem Kumar, 96 the film is touted to be about two long-lost lovers trying to find closure for their break-up during a school reunion, 96 stars Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha in the lead and will be their first onscreen presence together.
