Third eye is a short film starring actor Vikram, which reiterates the importance of closed circuit television cameras (CCTV) and it was released recently, as a step towards ensuring awareness about the safety issues in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. In the video, actor Vikram is seen narrating why we need CCTVs everywhere and at one point he says, "everything, everywhere, we are watching."
This and the tone of Third Eye in general inadvertently reminded a lot of viewers of the Kamal Haasan hosted Bigg Boss Tamil show, in which the Ulaganayagan uses a similar one-line. Nevertheless, Third eye makes for a good safety awareness film.
Since the film is released in association with the Tamil Nadu Police, Commissioner of the city A.K. Viswanathan released a CD of the short film on Monday and presented its first copy to actor Vikram.
At the event, Vikram was quoted as saying, “In Singapore, any woman can walk freely without fear even after midnight. By installing CCTVs, Chennai can also be made a safe place.” The actor also appealed to people to install CCTVs at homes and commercial establishments.
