The shooting of Thalaivar 165 (tentative title) has been progressing at a brisk pace. The team is currently shooting in Chennai. Nawazuddin Siddiqui has joined the team to shoot for his portions. The 'Manto' actor is making his debut in Tamil with Rajinikanth's film. The actor who is known for his histrionic skills is seen rehearsing his lines before the shoot. He took to his Twitter page to share a picture of himself from the film sets.

The film boasts of an ensemble cast which includes Vijay Sethupathi, Bobby Simha, Mega Akash, Sananth Reddy, Nawazuddin Siddiqui amongst others. Trisha is the latest to join the cast. Sun Pictures is bankrolling the film. Anirudh Ravichander is in charge of the music.
