96 Teaser - Breathes life into celluloid

At a time when a teaser means slow-mo walking parade of a mass hero or mouthing fast-paced punch dialogues or a combination of both, the teaser of director Prem Kumar's 96 has pleasantly taken everyone by surprise and it has been receiving rave reviews from critics, celebrities and movie buffs. It's been a really long time since a teaser was breezy, elegant and impactful, all at once. Without a single dialogue, the teaser beautifully sways to the musical crescendo scored by Govind Menon, which also highlights the charming chemistry between the lead pair.

Vijay Sethupathi, who is seen monkeying around, is at consummate ease as usual. But the real surprise is Trisha, who looks ageless without any make-up. Their title cards appear simultaneously against the backdrop of a moving train, which is a welcome sign in this predominantly hero-driven industry. The story's milieu looks interesting with a mix of breathtaking backdrops and urban locations.
