Bollywood actress Vidya Balan will be making her Tollywood debut with NTR Biopic. The film is a biopic on legendary Telugu actor and former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao (NTR). Vidya Balan will be essaying the role of NTR's first wife Basavatarakam. NTR's son Nandamuri Balakrishna will be playing the titular role. 

NTR Biopic was officially launched on 29 March in Hyderabad by Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu. The film will be directed by Krish Jagarlamudi who has directed Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika. Being jointly produced by Balakrishna, Vishnu Induri and Sai Korrapati, the film will have music by MM Keeravani. While Santhosh Thundiyil will crank the camera, Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao will take care of editing. The Hindi version of the film has been titled 1983 Biopic. The film is expected to go on floors this month.

Bengali actor Jisshu Sengupta will essay the role of the late filmmaker LV Prasad. Reportedly many popular Telugu actors will be making a cameo appearance in the film. Rana Daggubati will play Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
